About Rochdale
Rochdale takes it's name from its position on the River Roche and is probably best known for its Co-op, the beginning of the Co-operative movement, which today still includes the well known national supermarket chain. Also well known for its textile industries including cotton, silk and wool Rochdale is situated at the foot of the Pennines – also known as “the back-bone of England”.
Rochdale’s magnificent Town Hall built in 1871 takes pride of place in the centre of the town, its original clock tower destroyed by fire in 1883 and rebuilt in 1887. Oher tourist attractions include St Chads Church and the Rochdale Canal which runs through Littleborough and is just a short distance from Dearden Grange.
Shoppers Paradise
The town itself hosts a great many shops, With a daily market indoor and outdoor, and boasts two shopping centre's that have over 100 shops and cafés for you and your family to enjoy. There are also many specialised stores surrounding on Drake Street, Yorkshire Street, Cheetham Street and The Walk.
If you do want to venture in the nearest city,Manchester, there are superb connections by bus or train.
The Town Centre is to be redeveloped over the next few years which will enhance the lively and vibrant environment with exciting new shops, restaurants and cafés. A new Debenhams Department store, and a large Marks & Spencer. With all this just a 10 minute drive away Dearden Grange is a shoppers paradise.

The atmosphere of the town as a whole is vibrant and exciting with a string of bars and clubs in the city centre. If you don’t fancy a night of clubbing then perhaps you
should check out one of the many wine bars. Yates’s has a chilled feel to it and provides a good selection of wines, ales and lagers. Alternatively if you fancy an
exciting and fun-filled atmosphere then Liquid Rock may be worth a look. One thing is clear, no matter where you decide to go in Rochdale you’re destined to have a good
time.
