Telford History
Built during the 1960’s and 1970’s and named after Thomas Telford, the famous civil engineer, the “New Town” of Telford was created from the merger of several smaller towns: Wellington, Madeley, Dawley and Ironbridge and is widely known as The Birthplace of Industry", due to the areas history during the Industrial Revolution.
Telford sits in the beautiful county of Shropshire, just 30 miles (40 minutes) west of Birmingham on the M54 motorway.
All business locations in Telford are within ten minutes of the motorway, as well as train and freight services.
Shoppers Paradise
Telford plays host to the 10th largest shopping centre in the UK which is home to 160 outlets including a House of Fraser, Debenhams and Primark as well as many specialised stores and cafés.
Madeley’s new shopping centre is only 150 metres from Russell Court and the Town of Wellington which boasts a twice weekly market is only a 15 minute drive.
If you want to venture into the city of Birmingham, there are superb connections by bus or train.
The Town Centre is to be redeveloped over the next few years which will enhance the lively and vibrant environment with exciting new shops, restaurants and cafés an ice rink and learning center along with an extension to the exhibition hall to attract major events. With all this and more, Russell Court is a shoppers paradise.

Eating out is a passionate affair in Shropshire and whatever your taste or budget the choice in Ironbridge and Telford is huge. There are a plentiful supply of restaurants offering the finest cosmopolitan dishes whatever your fancy, be it Thai, French, Italian or traditional English. The atmosphere of the Town is vibrant and exciting with a selection of bars and clubs to choose from.
If you don’t fancy a night of clubbing then perhaps you should check out one of the many wine bars in Ironbridge. The Swan has a chilled feel to it and provides a good
selection of wines, ales and lagers. One thing is clear, no matter where you decide to go in Telford you’re destined to have a good time.
